I could try selling this Pro and getting a new one but that's very costly, and going digital might actually math out cheaper. So what do I do? Disc drives are a difficult, costly repair, since from what I understand they're hardware locked to their respective motherboard, making it a double purchase. This worked flawlessly for a good while, but now it only works about half of the time, and that statistic is rapidly dropping. After that started to fail the next most used solution is, and I'm not joking here, tapping HARD on the top of the system where the drive is located as it tries to spin up the disc. Firstly I read you should turn the console vertical, which surprisingly worked for a while. Basic Google searching tells me this isn't actually that uncommon an issue, and the solutions are ridiculous. Not only is it insanely loud, but now it barely reads discs. The issue is the PS4 Pro is a piece of shit. This allows me to play most games I want on my relatively small budget. Essentially I can buy a $60 game for around $48 (still on Gamer Club) and sell it back to Amazon for at least $25 if I finish it quick enough (within a couple months). The digital future is a ways off for me since physical is immensely cheaper when it comes to new games.
